The internationally acclaimed National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) is the largest and most successful program of its kind in the world. The NSCD began in 1970 with 23 amputee children from Denver taking ski lessons at Winter Park. Launching its 38th season, the non-profit organization teaches more than 17,000 lessons annually in a variety of year-round sports for children and adults of all disabilities. The NSCD Competition Program provides race training and coaching for disabled skiers participating in regional, national, and international events.
